About Us

My Family Needs, a service of the Caroline County Public Library, has served Caroline County as a community information clearinghouse since 2001. In 2014, an upgrade and redesign of the website was made possible using funding from the Maryland State Department of Education, through the federal Race to the Top—Early Learning Challenge grant (RTT-ELC). Under the auspices of the Caroline Early Learning Advisory Council, My Family Needs seeks to link the families of Caroline County with the information and services they need to help their children enter school ready to learn.

Organizations listed in My Family Needs are either based in Caroline County, or serve the citizens of Caroline County, and meet one of the definitions listed here. Examples of types of organizations included in the database are:
  • Health and Human Service Agencies
  • Educational Agencies
  • Social and Fraternal Organizations
  • Hobby Clubs
  • Non-profit Agencies and Community Action Groups
  • Support Groups
  • Businesses that offer public services, such as fax machines, notaries, and meeting rooms.

My Family Needs is both a web-based service listing over 300 community organizations, and a referral service staffed by highly-trained library staff who are committed to linking families with local organizations. To reach library staff, send an email to info@carolib.org, or call 410-479-1343 during open library hours.
