Meets the 2nd Thursday of every month, meeting location varies (get in touch with President for meeting location). | Services Provided: Meetings are the second Monday of every month at noon at the Denton Church of the Nazarene, 10660 Greensboro Rd., Denton. There are no meetings in July & August. Guest speakers and entertainment are often a part of the monthly meetings. Members donate their time, money, and canned goods to local non-profit organizations in the area. | Services Provided: This 400-acre preserve is located on the Tuckahoe Creek and includes portions of the region's most significant wetlands. Offers four miles of walks, education programs, art exhibits, lectures, workshops, garden tours, and native plant sales. Public amenities include a visitor's center with gift shop, library, and meeting room. Many volunteer opportunities available. Visitor's center open daily 10a.m.-4p.m., except major holidays. | Services Provided: Chesapeake College provides adult education programs to residents in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent and Talbot counties. Administrative offices for the program are located at the College’s Wye Mills Campus. Students wishing to enroll in any of the adult education classes must first attend a registration session. This process will evaluate the student's abilities for the proper class placement. Supports local charitable organizations, including the American Legion. Sponsors local high school juniors to attend the Girls State conference each year. | Services Provided: A Veterans organization that donates money to legal organizations and charities that send requests. To be considered for a donation, send a letter to the post and a committee will review it and make a decision. The Legion also runs scholarship programs and sponsors a yearly oratorical contest for high school seniors. Regular events: Bingo every Tuesday at 7:30 PM.
Post hall available for rent for events or as a meeting room. Accommodates up to 250 people. Special features: podium, p/a system. Food must be prepared on premises by Ladies Auxiliary.
