Formerly named Anne Arundel Crisis Beds, Harbour House is Maryland non-profit that provides an alternative to hospitalization for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. Harbour House provides a psychiatric inpatient admission alternative for those experiencing a mental health crisis as evaluated by a physician or mental health professional. Without Residential Crisis Services, these individuals are at risk for inpatient admission. Harbour House can also provide individuals who are being discharged from inpatient facilities a transitional location, as well as individuals needing temporary separation from their current living arrangements. Meetings are held the 1st Thurs. of every month at old Choptank Electric building (Bus 404 & Rte 328) in Denton, MD. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the meeting begins at 7 PM. If schools are closed that day due to inclement weather, then the meeting is canceled. Guest speakers present on different aspects of quilting. His Hope Haven accepts single men and women, as well as family groups, as guests. The shelter opens at 5:30 PM and guests are provided with dinner, breakfast the next morning, and a packed lunch. Shower facilities are available. Guests leave at 9 AM each morning. Guests without transportation are driven into Denton, and picked up there later. The drop off and pickup area is in the parking lot of the court house across from the Episcopal Church on Gay Street.

Once a plan is in motion we set a meeting in a safe place. At the meeting we will assist and guide the family as they address the sufferer and the impact his or her addiction is having. This can allow the family to express their love and concerns while offering to help but with effective mediation to minimize emotions taking over and disrupting the hopeful outcome.
