Assists parents of children with disabilities by conducting regular parent education workshops, helping parents find information, providing referrals, lending materials from their library, maintaining an up-to-date list of support groups, and working with parents directly to help them obtain the best possible services for their child. Each region has a local Parent Educator contact. Each Parent Educator has a child with a disability and provides assistance to families on issues related to their child’s disability, particularly about special education. Visit the website for workshop schedules and links to other resources. The staff also includes individuals who work on the Maryland Family Voices project. This project works to improve access to health care for children and youth with special health care needs. For more information email: info@ppmd.org
