Service

The Ridgely Lions serve the Ridgely community in many ways to include, but not limited to: assistance with eye exams and eyeglasses for those in need (applications are available upon request); the Ridgely Strawberry Festival; the Christmas Parade (the first Saturday in December); placement of decorative/seasonal banners throughout town; sponsorship of youth baseball, football and soccer teams; durable medical equipment loan closet;  monetary and volunteer support of the Ridgely UMC food bank and scholarships to Ridgely area college-bound students. We also make donations to many charitable organizations and youth groups throughout the community.

One service project that the Ridgely Lions do in cooperation with the Greensboro Lions Club is a Durable Medical Equipment Loan Closet.  Lions re-purpose good used medical equipment and provide it free of charge to people in need.  If you know of someone in need or you have some good used durable medical equipment to donate, you may contact us on www.facebook.com/ Ridgely Lions Club or the Greensboro MD Lions Club. We will even pick it up.

As part of Lions Clubs International we make yearly donations to the Lions Multiple District-22 Low Vision Research Center (The Wilmer Eye Clinic at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD), the Lions Leader Dog Program and the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF).

The Lions Clubs International motto is “We Serve”. If you’re interested in helping your community and meeting like-minded folks, then we invite you to find out more about Lions and contact us at ridgelylions@verizon.net.  If you have additional questions contact Lion Donna DiGiacomo, Membership Chairman at 410-310-6126.
