Traditional Episcopal worship service held in an historic gothic-style church on the Choptank River. Holy Eucharist Rite Two at 9:30 AM every Sunday. Adult Bible study at 8:15 AM Sunday. Coffee Hour following the service — join us for fellowship and good things to eat. Parish Hall with kitchen may be rented for meetings/receptions. Tables and chairs available, seats 60. Street parking and after-hours parking at Courthouse lots. Very limited handicapped-accessible. Follow us on Facebook at Christ Church Denton. Christ Church Denton is in partnership with His Hope Ministries, the local homeless shelter. Their Resource Center is usually open in our building next door (105 Gay Street) Monday through Thursday 9:30 am – 3:30 pm.

Electric service provided to residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial consumers. Speakers’ bureau, electrical safety education, and energy conservation information programs available. SCHOLARSHIP: High school or home school seniors whose parents or guardians are members or employees of Choptank Electric Cooperative are eligible to apply for seven $2,000 college scholarships.ASSISTANCE: Operation Round Up® is Choptank Electric Cooperative’s community service assistance program. According to its bylaws, the Trust board may make donations to any worthwhile community cause, except no funds can be used for political purposes or to pay electric bills. The current mission statement of the Choptank Electric Trust allows for donations to be made for food, clothing, shelter, equipment, medical and educational needs.

The program serves 9 counties of the Eastern Shore for those with developmental disabilities and 7 counties for functionally disabled. The program reimburses families paying out of pocket for respite care. It is a service that helps families trying to keep their child or adult with them in the community.

Respite care is short-term relief for those taking care of a disabled child or adult. The program works with families to provide financial reimbursement, guidance, referrals to other appropriate services in their area. Families choose their own careworker, the only rule being someone in the same household cannot be used.

There is an application process that includes financial information and a medical statement to verify disability.

Service

The Lions Club sponsors a Vision Program that helps to pay for eye screening and glasses for needy people in Greensboro. Call or write for an application. Also sponsors a little league team, a soccer team, organizes the Little Miss Greensboro contest, sporting clay tournaments, an Easter egg hunt and games for families on the 4th of July at Bilbrough Park in Greensboro. The Club has two planned chicken barbecues every year, plus other events and they donate money to Lions Vision research and other charities. We are proud to serve the community by providing eye exams and glasses to those in need. We also provide a Ball Park which has a Softball field, Little League Field, Horse Shoe Pits and a Pavilion for the use of the community.

Must be sponsored by a member in order to join.

Meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 6:30 PM at Wheatley Hall on Sunset & Academy Streets in Greensboro.

Dues for members are $260 a year, which include local and national dues.
