Traditional Episcopal worship service held in an historic gothic-style church on the Choptank River. Holy Eucharist Rite Two at 9:30 AM every Sunday. Adult Bible study at 8:15 AM Sunday. Coffee Hour following the service -- join us for fellowship and good things to eat. Parish Hall with kitchen may be rented for meetings/receptions. Tables and chairs available, seats 60. Christ Church Denton is in partnership with His Hope Haven, the local homeless shelter. Their Resource Center is usually open on our lower level Monday through Thursday 9:30 am - 5:15 pm.
His Hope Haven accepts single men and women, as well as family groups, as guests. The shelter opens at 5:30 PM and guests are provided with dinner, breakfast the next morning, and a packed lunch. Shower facilities are available. Guests leave at 9 AM each morning. Guests without transportation are driven into Denton, and picked up there later. The drop off and pickup area is in the parking lot of the court house across from the Episcopal Church on Gay Street.
The Talbot Interfaith Shelter (TIS) is an organization serving homeless individuals and families from Talbot County and surrounding areas. It is operated by staff and volunteers from local faith-based communities and other concerned citizens. Potential guests must agree to a background check and an interview with our Operations Manager for admission to the program. TIS provides transitional housing for families as well as overnight shelter for individuals.
