The Fraternal Order of Police holds fundraisers to benefit the community and donates the money to local organizations. They sponsor Little League teams, help with After Prom Parties, participate in holiday programs that benefit local families, and take on special projects based on community need. The group meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month on a bi-monthly basis at 6PM at private residences in Denton. There is a legal plan offered to sworn officers who are members.
Supports local hospice foundation and United Concerned Christians through monetary donations. Gives 2 $1,000 scholarships a year to local high school students. Serves funnel cakes at the Summerfest . All proceeds from events goes back to support various local organizations in the county.
The Community Club of Preston was founded in 1923, and continues to be active as it nears its 100th anniversary. The Club meets the third Tuesday of the month from September through June, at 12 noon at the Community/Lions' Club building, 114 Williamson Street, Preston, with some exceptions. Funds are raised by the Club through such activities as a Fashion Show/Luncheon and Christmas House Tour. Proceeds from their fundraisers go back in to the community via support of such groups and projects as the Preston Fire Department, Imagination Library for Caroline County, Partners In Care, CASA of Caroline County, local high school culinary departments, Power Purse ER Victims Project, Preston Elementary School, Colonel Richardson Middle School, and Colonel Richardson High School. The Club has purchased Christmas gifts for needy families, conducted a coat drive, and offers scholarships to graduating Colonel Richardson High School Seniors. The Club also installed and maintains the Little Free Library (#37123) at the James T. Wright Memorial Park in Preston. The Club is always looking for new projects to support, as well as for new members to help us accomplish our goal of supporting our local community. Donates money for those that need eyeglasses. Applications for assistance purchasing eyeglasses available at the Department of Social Services. Contributes money to seeing-eye dog school, Leader Dog, Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Clinic, local schools, soccer teams, Girls and Boys State. Offer two $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior of NCHS. Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 6:29 PM at the Denton Club House on Butler Dr. and Maryland Ave.
Weekly Lunch meetings are held at the Chesapeake Culinary Arts Center, 513 Franklin Street in Denton Md. Lunch at 12 noon followed by brief business meeting and community speaker.

Answers fire calls and provides EMS services. Does demonstrations on how to put out fires, cut up cars, and use a fire extinguisher. Various fundraisers include: BREAKFAST - 4th Sunday of each month from 7 Am until 10 AM; All-U-CAN-EAT - Adults $7, children 4-12 $4, Under 3 Free; TEEN DANCES - scheduled monthly on Friday nights- Admission $5 Ages 11 - 17; MONTHLY MEETINGS are held the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month at 8 PM. Election of new officers held every year on the second Thursday in March.
