The purpose of Special Olympics Upper Shore is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults intellectual disabilities or closely-related developmental disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a shoring of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

Service

The sports that are offered are: in the fall, soccer and power lifting; in the winter, basketball; in the spring, aquatics, boccie; in the summer, cycling, kayaking, and golf. All sports are available at no or minimal cost to the athletes. Travel outside the county for practices may be necessary.
