The North County Clergy Association coordinates the following community events: A Community Thanksgiving Service with a Soup and Sandwich Fellowship, a Community Lenten Series, and an Easter Sunrise Service. The North County Clergy Association works cooperatively with Caroline County’s National Day of Prayer Coordinator to provide a county-wide NDP event; Giving Grace Food Pantry at Trinity United Methodist Church in Goldsboro; and His Hope Ministries as they provide shelter and resources to individuals and families in need. The North County Clergy Association meets for fellowship and business on the last Wednesday of every month (except December, June and July) at the Greensboro Baptist Church Family Life Center at 10:00 AM. Officers are Doug Morley, President; Thomas Fisher, Vice-President; Karen Handy, Treasurer; and Paul Merritt, Secretary.

Neighbors United to Serve (NUTS) is a volunteer community group of individuals who have served Thanksgiving dinners to Caroline County families every year since 1992. We are supported entirely by donations of time, talent and treasure. This year we hope to share the blessings of Thanksgiving with 1,100 friends and neighbors. It is a faith-based, non-profit organization striving to provide a spiritually and physically safe Winter Haven for people experiencing homelessness. His Hope Haven accepts single men and women, as well as family groups, as guests. The shelter opens at 5:30 PM and guests are provided with dinner, breakfast the next morning, and a packed lunch. Shower facilities are available. Guests leave at 9 AM each morning. Guests without transportation are driven into Denton, and picked up there later. The drop off and pickup area is in the parking lot of the court house across from the Episcopal Church on Gay Street.
