Provide safe, affordable, and energy efficient homes for low-income families in Caroline County. Partner families work alongside volunteers and local contractors under Habitat construction supervision. Low-cost mortgages are provided in order to promote long term homeownership. Also, Habitat participates in the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI)- which may include rehabilitation of vacant and foreclosed properties, house repairs and weatherization. Applications are being accepted for low-income homeowners. Habitat partners with other community organizations to provide services that enhance the overall quality of life in struggling neighborhoods.

The Talbot Interfaith Shelter (TIS) is an organization serving homeless individuals and families from Talbot County and surrounding areas. It is operated by staff and volunteers from local faith-based communities and other concerned citizens. Potential guests must agree to a background check and an interview with our Operations Manager for admission to the program. His Hope Haven accepts single men and women, as well as family groups, as guests. The shelter opens at 5:30 PM and guests are provided with dinner, breakfast the next morning, and a packed lunch. Shower facilities are available. Guests leave at 9 AM each morning. Guests without transportation are driven into Denton, and picked up there later. The drop off and pickup area is in the parking lot of the court house across from the Episcopal Church on Gay Street.
