Provide safe, affordable, and energy efficient homes for low-income families in Caroline County. Partner families work alongside volunteers and local contractors under Habitat construction supervision. Low-cost mortgages are provided in order to promote long term homeownership. Also, Habitat participates in the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI)- which may include rehabilitation of vacant and foreclosed properties, house repairs and weatherization. Applications are being accepted for low-income homeowners. Habitat partners with other community organizations to provide services that enhance the overall quality of life in struggling neighborhoods.

Provides subsidized home loans to very low and low income people for new and existing homes. Provides grants to very low income people age 62 or older and one percent interest loans for any very low income person who owns and occupies their home to complete home repairs that are needed to fix hazardous conditions for safety reasons. Mid-Shore Pro Bono does not handle criminal cases, traffic cases or appeals. The Office of the Public Defender handles any criminal case carrying a possible jail sentence or a fine of more than $500.You must apply at least ten (10) working days prior to your trial date. You may apply at most OPD Offices, not just the County where you will go to court.You will be interviewed by an Intake Specialist, complete a written application, and be asked to provide information about your income and assets.

Eligibility for Public Defender services is determined by comparing your financial condition to the Federal Poverty Guidelines. You will be advised after the application process whether you qualify for Public Defender services or not.
